Registration for Fall programs is now open!
Summer may be winding down, but the City of Troutdale Recreation Department is ramping up the options to keep you busy and active. Along with our usual standbys, we’re presenting some new programs and bringing back some old ones for the autumn months. Here’s a quick look at some of our offerings.
For those who want to take advantage of the outdoors as long as possible, why not get a little exercise with an Easy Hike around the Sweetbriar neighborhood? This early evening event on Monday, October 3 is a great opportunity to meet new people and enjoy the beauty of the area. You can even bring your dog!
Little Trout Play Park, our indoor play date for kids up to age 4 will return to the Sam Cox Building for a one-day event on Tuesday, October 11. We’ll have plenty of indoor toys, art projects, and a fun-filled story time with the Troutdale youth librarian. There is no fee or pre-registration required – and we provide all the supplies!
Are you a fan of needlecrafts? Sit & Stitch is a three-week Monday morning program where you can bring your crocheting, knitting, needlework and even spinning to a social, small group setting. Our volunteer instructor can help guide and inspire you to finish an existing project or start something new. Make a Gift! Come and make a simple gift for that special someone this holiday season at this free all ages event, Tuesday, December 20 at the Sam Cox Building. You bring the creativity and we’ll provide the art supplies and gift wrap. It’s a great opportunity for kids to make a surprise gift for a loved one!
With news of wildfires, floods, and earthquakes dominating the headlines in recent years, you may be wondering what you can do to protect you and your loved ones. You can build your level of preparedness in our free, one-night Disaster Preparedness seminar on Thursday, November 3. The presentation will cover the impacts of disasters, roles of government and the public, how to enhance your disaster resilience through community connections, and how to develop your disaster response and recovery plan.
For full details, please visit TroutdaleOregon.gov/rec. Registration begins on Thursday, September 8. Financial Aid and Family Discounts are available.
