Celebrate the holiday season at Troutdale's Windy Wonderland and Tree Lighting in our historic downtown on December 7 & 8, 2024. This festive event, which benefits Snow Cap Community Charities, runs on both days from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The City’s traditional tree lighting ceremony in Mayors Square is set for 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8.

The event centers around a holiday market set inside The Troutdale House at 411 E Historic Columbia River Hwy. This market will feature dozens of local vendors selling handcrafted gifts, plus holiday music and seasonal treats and beverages. Stay tuned for more information and a schedule of daily activities! The hours for the Holiday Market are Saturday, Dec. 7: 12:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8: 12:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Don't forget that our downtown shops, businesses, and restaurants will also be participating in the fun during the event so be sure to check them out!

Note for potential Windy Wonderland vendors: Please visit our Event Vendor Information page to find out how you can apply to become a vendor a Windy Wonderland. Fees vary for locations and number of tables. All vendors must commit to vending all day Saturday and Sunday. Single day vendors will not be accommodated. If you are only able to vend one day and want to participate, marlee.boxler [at] troutdaleoregon.gov (please email Marlee Boxler) and we will share your information with other businesses who may want to host pop up vendors, however there is no guarantee that there will be space.
Once you fill out the application form, you will need to click “add to waitlist” for your preferred location (main floor, lower level, or patio - click here to see a floor plan) and then click the orange checkout button on the top right-hand corner and complete your application to submit. Please note that the wait list does not mean that the event is full! Everyone is added to the waitlist so we can review the applications before charging fees. All applications on the waitlist will be reviewed and those selected will be released from the waitlist to complete their registration. Please be aware that space is limited and completing your application does not guarantee you a spot, you will be contacted if you are selected to be a vendor.

During Windy Wonderland, you will be able to visit Santa at his North Pole headquarters in downtown Troutdale for a magical holiday experience! On Saturday and Sunday, Santa will be available for FREE professional photos from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. and for selfies from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Please note that we are not able to print photos on site. The professional photos will be made available for download to your computer or mobile device the day after the event.

More details to come!

We're expecting a big turnout, so here's the scoop on parking: Parking spots are available in the lots above Mayors Square, on Kibling Street, and behind the north side of downtown. You can also park in legal spots along Historic Columbia River Highway and the side streets in our downtown.
We'll have more details as the event draws closer.
As you enjoy the festivities at Troutdale’s Tree Lighting, consider bringing a donation to support SnowCap Community Charities. This vital organization provides food, clothing, advocacy, and other essential services to neighbors in need.
SnowCap welcomes donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items, especially high-protein options like tuna or chicken. Hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products are also greatly appreciated. Small toys and warm winter clothing, including coats, hats, gloves, and scarves, are in high demand during the colder months. For those who wish to make a cash contribution, monetary donations are always welcome and go a long way in keeping their pantry shelves stocked.
SnowCap is currently serving over 15,000 individuals in East Multnomah County every month, a number that has more than tripled in just two years. The Tree Lighting event is part of their Fill-a-Bag campaign, which aims to stock their pantry shelves through the first quarter of 2025.
Every donation, whether it’s an item or a dollar, makes a real difference for someone in our community. Together, we can help ensure that no one goes without during the winter months.
