Recycling and Solid Waste

Yellow and green garbage and recycling rolling carts

About Our Program

The City of Troutdale manages recycling and solid waste services through a franchise agreement with WM (formerly Waste Management), our exclusive waste collection provider. We establish service rates for garbage, recycling, and yard debris collection for all residential and commercial properties within city limits.

What We Do

The Recycling and Solid Waste program:

  • Manages the franchise agreement with our waste hauler
  • Establishes collection service rates for garbage, recycling, and yard debris
  • Ensures compliance with State of Oregon and Metro regional waste management requirements

Your Waste Collection Provider

WM serves all Troutdale customers with standard collection of garbage, recycling, and yard debris, plus additional specialized services for both residential and commercial accounts.

Not sure what belongs in each bin? Download WM's quick reference guide for an easy-to-use sorting cheat sheet you can keep by your bins or on your refrigerator.

Rates and Billing

Residential service rates vary based on cart size, with options ranging from 20-gallon to 90-gallon garbage carts. Your basic monthly charge includes weekly collection of garbage, yard debris, and recycling in roll carts provided by WM. Additional carts and services are available for an extra monthly fee.

View current rates on the WM's rate page for complete residential and commercial rate information.
