First Friday Vendor Information

First Friday Art Walk

Thank you so much for your interest in being a vendor! We are happy to have your participation in Troutdale’s First Friday Art Walk. To make the event run as smoothly as possible, we have created some guidelines and instructions. Please contact cityevents [at] troutdaleoregon.gov (cityevents[at]troutdaleoregon[dot]gov) if you have any questions.

Guidelines

  • Vendors must sell locally made goods/art/crafts. Franchises/consultants for large companies will not be accepted.
  • The event is family friendly, and anything sold must be appropriate for all ages.
  • Event hours are from 5-8 pm. Setup will begin at 3:30 p.m. and teardown will begin at 8:00 p.m.
  • Vehicles are allowed for setup. If you need a vehicle for setup, please follow the instructions listed below.
  • Vendors should refrain from using public parking spaces and should only park in areas designated for vendor parking, per the attached parking plan. If the vendor parking is full, please use the overflow vacant lot across from the Sheriff’s office.
  • We ask that vendors not exceed a booth larger than 10' x 10'. If your booth is larger than this, please let us know so that we can try to help accommodate it, however for planning purposes we’ve budgeted about 15 feet per booth.
  • It is each business’s responsibility to ensure they are abiding by state, federal, and local laws, and guidelines.

Set Up Instructions

  • Any vendor needing to use a vehicle for set up or tear down must access the road closure zone at the vendor access site.
  • Vendor access is through the Mayor’s Square Parking Lot, which can be accessed off Buxton Road, between Historic Columbia River Highway and 2nd Street.
  • Once you enter the parking lot, there will be two city staff members who will check you in before letting you through to set up.
  • Staff members will assign you a number, which corresponds with numbers placed on the curb along Historic Columbia River Highway. They will also give you a map to help assist you in finding your location.
  • Staff members will also give you a car hang tag which designates you as a vendor.
    • If you are participating in all First Friday events through September, please keep the tag and have it with you for future First Fridays to streamline the check in process.
    • If you are not participating in future First Friday events, please return your hang tag to staff at the end of the night.
  • Once you are checked in, you will continue driving down the alley towards Harlow Ave, where you will turn left and head towards Historic Columbia River Highway.
  • Once on Historic Columbia River Highway head towards your number.
  • Please be aware of other vendors and businesses setting up in the street and stay safe while driving through the closure.
  • You can park in the bike lane in front of your booth location, but please don’t park in the parking spaces, as those are other vendor booth spots. Please avoid blocking traffic by parking in the middle of the road.
  • Booths should be set up in the on-street parking area. Please avoid setting up on the sidewalk.
  • Once you are done setting up you will head back towards Harlow Ave and leave the way you came.
  • We are aware that Harlow Ave is a one-way street. We will have a staff member at Historic Columbia River Highway and Harlow Ave to help direct traffic and allow you to drive up the one-way to get out.
  • Reminder, there will be bollards in the street at Harlow Ave and 2nd Street, so you will need to turn right at the alley to come back out through Mayor’s Square lot.
  • Once you are out of the road closure, you can find a parking space in the vendor parking lot or at the overflow parking at the vacant lot across from the Sheriff’s office.

Tear Down Instructions

  • Tear down will work just like set up did and will begin at 8 pm.
  • The road closure reopening process begins at 8:30 pm and will be completed by 9 pm. If you are not finished packing during that time, please try to at least be clear of the road.
  • Once you are done packing, you are welcome to park in your booth space to get dinner downtown, if you’d like.
