If you have been charged with a misdemeanor you are required to appear in court.
- A misdemeanor could be a DUII, Driving while Suspended Misdemeanor, Theft I, II or III, etc
You have the right to appear in court and plead no contest with an explanation for the Judge. You also have the right to plead not guilty. However, you may be able to handle your ticket without going to court. Please call the Court Clerk to find out your options.
To pay your traffic citation without attending court:
- Wait at least 5 business days after you receive the citation
- Contact the Court Clerk during business hours, either in person at City Hall or by calling 503-674-7236
If you have not paid your fine prior to your court date, you must appear in court.
- Payments can be made by mailing a check or money order with your citation number on the check/money order.
- You can pay in person with cash, check, money order or a debit/credit card.
- You can pay online with a debit/credit card.
- There is also a drop box at City Hall where you can deposit a check or money order after hours, please do not deposit cash in the drop box.
- We are not able to take payment over the phone.
