Instructor and service dog owner, Lisa Oviatt, recently led a virtual open forum on service animals designed for ages 18+ on Monday, November 8.

The purpose of the webinar to provide insight into the laws that are currently in place and to help people:

  • Learn the difference between therapy, emotional support and service animals.
  • Learn about ADA rules and laws in order to safely run your business/public space.
  • Gain resources in how to communicate when someone brings their animal into a building or public space and how to handle misunderstandings and conflicts.
  • Learn the steps to register an animal to become a Service Animal.

The webinar was recorded and can be viewed below. If you have any questions, please mollie.king [at] troutdaleoregon.gov (contact Recreation Manager Mollie King) or call 503-674-7206.
