Prepare yourself and your loved ones for emergencies with the City of Troutdale’s Disaster Preparedness Seminar. This engaging and practical session provides an in-depth look at the potential impacts of various disasters, the roles that both government agencies and individuals play during an emergency, and how to build personal and community resilience. Attendees learn how to create a tailored disaster response and recovery plan, connect with emergency response systems, and assemble essential supplies to stay safe and self-sufficient.
Led by Alice Busch, EMT, CEM, Operations Division Chief for Multnomah County Emergency Management, and Ray Young, Troutdale City Manager and Emergency Manager, the seminar offers actionable guidance and real-world insights to help you get ready before disaster strikes.
To ensure broader community access, the seminar has also been offered in multiple languages. The English-language session took place in Troutdale on November 20, 2024. A Spanish-language seminar was held in Fairview on May 6, 2025, followed by a Ukrainian-language session in Wood Village on May 13, 2025.
You can watch full recordings or view short recaps of the most recent seminars in each language below. A PDF version of the slide deck is also available for each session so you can review the key information.
