A burn ban is in effect for all areas within Multnomah County

Multnomah Fire Defense Board Chief Scott Lewis has issued an outdoor burn ban for all areas of Multnomah County due to high temperatures, low humidity and dry conditions expected in the area Tuesday and Wednesday.

The burn ban includes campfires, fire pits, yard debris, agricultural burning and permits issued for open burning. Outdoor barbecuing is still allowed, but residents should exercise extreme caution. Smokers should ensure their cigarettes are out and placed in proper receptacles.
