Earth Day 2024

On a spring day in 1970, 20 million Americans joined together for peaceful demonstrations in favor of environmental reform. Not only did this mark the first Earth Day, it also continued the growth of the environmental movement, and even helped spawn the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Earth Day now includes events in nearly 200 countries and countless communities around the globe – including Troutdale.

The City is hosting its own Earth Day event at Columbia Park from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. We will be pulling invasive weeds, planting native plants, and picking up litter. Following the event, after everyone has worked up an appetite, we will have tables and chairs set up under the picnic shelter where a pizza lunch will be served.

Special thanks to students from the Reynolds Learning Academy who are helping City staff with the Earth Day prep and to our sponsors at SOLVEEast Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District!
