The City has contracted with Peterson CAT to provide and install a new backup generator for the City’s Well #5. This natural gas-powered backup generator will improve the City’s resiliency and be essential in the event of a power failure and will ensure the City is able to provide and meet the existing demand of potable water to Troutdale residents. This backup generator will be installed on a concrete pad and will likely have a building/roof built around it sometime in the future to protect it from the elements, vandalism/theft and to ensure it is always operable in an unexpected event. The generator has a very long lead time on production and is expected to be released for installation in Spring 2024.
