Construction of the Mayors Square Parking Lot Improvements project at 141 SE Dora Avenue will commence the week of January 27, 2020 and the City intends to be ready to reopen the new parking lot to public use by the middle of May.

During construction, the parking lot will generally be closed to public use.  At times, the contractor may make a few spaces available if possible, but that will be intermittent at best.

The key goal of the project is to maximize additional parking capacity for the City’s central business district. The project will pave and improve the parking lot to provide 36 total head-in parking stalls, including 3 ADA parking spaces. These spaces are distributed between two parking locations: 29 head-in parking stalls in the main parking lot, including 2 ADA parking spaces; and the remaining 7 stalls as head-in on-street parking on the north side of SE Second Street, including an additional ADA parking space.

The main parking lot will also include covered bicycle parking for up to 10 bikes. Other improvements include a retaining wall, upgraded lighting, storm drainage system, and landscaping, as well as a new tree well in Mayors Square Park.
