The Stark Street Bridge over the Sandy River is set for its biennial structural inspection later this week. All public bridges in the United States are inspected every two years by independent inspectors to document their structural condition.
This means that the bridge will be closed to all users from 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18.
The best detour option for cars, small trucks, bicyclists is to use Historic Columbia River Highway through downtown Troutdale. Large trucks should take Interstate 84 to Exit 18 (Jordan Road) to Historic Columbia River Highway.
Multnomah County maintains the Stark Street Bridge.
